All of Teen Empowerment's community-based sites are organizing large-scale youth conferences this year. Each conference is the culmination of the sites' work to bring people together: in dialogue sessions, community meetings, gatherings that facilitate healing from traumatic violence, and events that celebrate the power and hope of youth leadership. This project is a pilot student tutoring program where honor roll students from Kennedy Middle School will go to the Linscott School, after hours, and tutor students in the first and second grade. Based on the idea of a young student at Kennedy Middle School, this tutoring is a way he saw an opportunity to help fulfill a community need. This will provide the middle school students with valuable community service and the Linscott School students with another form of support.
